Gunn Law Group understands that any appearance in court causes our clients a lot of stress and anxiety. Once we are retained, we can make many of your court appearances on your behalf without you having to be present. If you are not sure whether or not you need to be in court, please check with the lawyer or case manager assigned to your file.
If you do need to appear in court, there is a lot you can do to make sure the appearance goes as smoothly as possible. Our lawyers are there to help you every step of the way. Whether you are appearing for trial, an administrative hearing, an appeal, or sentencing, knowing how to get ready for court will bring down your stress level and go a long way to ensuring the best outcome possible.

Court Preparation Tips
Those appearing in Court can play many roles. There are, of course, the judge, the clerk, the Crown Prosecutor and the defence lawyer. They are normally very comfortable with their roles. But if you are not a legally trained professional, court can be a very scary place. You will likely have lots of questions like:
- Does it make a difference if you are a witness for the Crown or the defence?
- What should you wear for court?
- What will cross-examination be like?
- Is it like what you see on television?
